Central European University

Budapest, Hungary

established reis consortium in 2016

Central European University is the coordinating partner of the REIs consortium. CEU will run all management activities associated with the consortium. In the REIs1, CEU ran innovative and award-winning full time and part time education programs. In the summer of 2018, anti-migrant legislation passed by the current Hungarian government has made it difficult to run such programs at CEU.

CEU continues to stand for migrant rights in Hungary and recognises that the anti-migrant legislation is an attack on human rights. CEU will work towards the re-establishing of education and advocacy programs within the university by working with civil society and migrant rights groups to invalidate the relevant legislation. Until such time, education programs run at CEU will continue at REIs partner Bard College Berlin.
